One of the great Kapuskasing hockey teams of the past is featured in this week’s look at local history.
There’s a photo and a story about the Kap Maroons, a Juvenile level team, in the Wednesday, March 13 1963 edition of the Northern Times celebrating their northern league title championship. The game was played at the old arena on McPherson Avenue.
Denis Lefebvre scored the lone goal to push the Maroons to the title over Cochrane. Kap advanced to the NOHA championship to meet the Schumacher Bears.
