Rock on the River is back at Hollinger Park in Timmins on July 18th and 19th, featuring some pretty well known musical acts.
Friday is Rock Night, followed by Country Night on Saturday. It features Mitch from Cochrane and Cory Marks of North Bay.
Timmins Festival and Events Committee chair John Olaveson says internet sensation Cooper Alan, known for his country mashups, will also perform,and team up with headliner Brett Kissel, multi-award-winning Canadian artist.
“And what’s interesting is Cooper and Brett have a song, The Two of Us, hopefully, well, I’m sure they’ll play it,” Olaveson predicts.
The big event is organized every year by the all-volunteer Timmins Festival and Events Committee
“Our ninth year, we’re really known in the community and the North as putting on a good party and it’s probably the event of the summer in Northern Ontario,” Olaveson remarks. “so we’re really pleased how well received we are.”
The website rotr.ca has the full program. Tickets go on sale there, too, at noon Friday. Olaveson says VIP passes are always the first to sell out.
