This week’s Kapuskasing history segment is devoted to the sport of bowling in Hearst. Photos of a bowling league banquet are featured in the May 28th, 1963 edition of the Northern Times.
The mixed champions that year were from the Northway Inn: Wilbert Martin, Norman Killick, Ingmar Loftstrom, Jackie Loftstrom, Therese Martin, and Pauline Killick.
A second photo has the men’s league winners, the Husky Pups. On that team were: Leonard Valcourt, Jean Paul Turgeon, Pat Veilleux, Lucien Morrisette, Mario Barrette and Ray Vermette.
