A 24-year-old trucker from Winnipeg has been charged with pulling an unsafe load, following a traffic complaint in Opasatika.
Provincial police say they were told late Sunday afternoon about the rear wheel of the transport wobbling and looking like it was going to detach.
The rig was finally pulled over at Reesor Siding. Officers found severe blackening and misalignment at the rear of the trailer. One wheel had only half its lug nuts attached.
The driver goes to court in Hearst on March 18th to answer charges of operating an unsafe commercial vehicle; driving it with a major defect in the trailer; and failing to accurately complete a daily inspection report.
