The holiday season can be a difficult time for those who have lost a love one, and St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Kapuskasing is offering comfort through a Blue Christmas Service Thursday night at 7. The very Reverend Valerie Isaac says all dominations are invited to attend the special event.
“Whether it be recently or in the past to come and to come and to sit and to worship together and to have a little bit of reflecting time,” she said. “It’s a votive candles we will be lighting during the service and people are invited to come up and light a candle in memory of whoever they’ve lost. If you have a picture of your loved one to bring that person with you.”
Isaac says this time of the year many look forward to the joys and celebrations of the holiday season, but for those who are grieving a loss it can be difficult and they are often filled with mixed emotions.
