Activities across the north are helping to mark National Francophone Immigration Week.
Le Reseau Du Nord’s Economic Development Agent Marie Josee Tremblay says there are Karaoke nights in Timmins and Hearst as well as a big celebration for Kapuskasing this Saturday night at the Centre de Loisirs.
“The launch of our video C’est Chez Nous de Chez Vous,” she said. “And a nice show from the African Choir, and Bobo Williams that’s going to be performing that night as well to entertain us.”
The week is designed to bring together francophone immigrants from all backgrounds.
“We’d like to encourage everyone to participate and to come learn a little bit more about our newcomers and to create those links.”
