Public meetings next week on new program to help newcomers and employers

Le Reseau Du Nord is hosting public consultation meetings next week on the new Francophone Welcoming Community Program that’s being offered across the Cochrane District including Timmins.

It starts Monday in Hearst and Tuesday in Kapuskasing from 10 am to 11:30 and then in Timmins on Wednesday from 1-3 – all at the respective Universite de Hearst campuses.

Economic Development Agent Marie Josee Tremblay says this program is great news for the region.

“So it opens up the doors to our newcomers to support their immigration pathway and to help our employers navigate the immigration pathway, and how they can support their employees in order to retain them within the workforce,” she said.

Tremblay says all the services will be under one roof.

“That we will have a new service that’s going to be a little bit of both that’s going to be able to support both the settlement services and The Reseau with all of the initiatives and bring a little bit more to our community.”

Registration for all events is available on Event Brite and here is the link.
