A Cubs and scouts tradition is the subject of this week’s Kapuskasing history segment.
A photo in the October 10th, 1962 edition of the Northern Times show six young boys who were participating in Apple Day. The boys were filling their baskets full of apples and selling them to people as a way to fundraise for various projects.
The caption also reported that the weather cooperated and the children had a successful day.
Pictured were Murray Lowe, Derek Dool, Jim Brady, Mike Sutcliffe, Louis Mallette and Danny Van Lith. Our thanks to the Kapuskasing Public Library for their continuing support of our weekly feature.
