Free weekend for francophone immigrants to become accustomed to Canadian customs

Making francophone immigrants feel at home and learn how some Canadians spend summer weekends is the focus of an event Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Moonbeam, at Camp Ograndi.

“Chez Nous C’est Chez Vous” – Our Home is Your Home – is presented by Réseau du Nord, the agency that supports those immigrants.

Social economic agent Marie-Josée Tremblay says everything is free: bus service, food, activities and accommodations.

“We have about I’d say about 50 dorms available and we have over 40 tents, all different sizes whether it’s three people, four people, six people or even up to eight people,” she says.

“We have over 30 sponsors to make this weekend happen. All food, transportation, everything is free of charge with numerous activities with a full program for the weekend.”

Information and registration is available from the Réseau du Nord website or Facebook page.
