Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes is nominating Amanda Rickard – the coordinator and driving force behind Kap’s Warm Belly Kitchen — for a King Charles III Coronation Medal.
It’s going to 30,000 Canadians in celebration of the king’s reign.
Hughes saw for herself last week, the work Rickard does at Warm Belly.
“And it happened to be their second anniversary of providing lunches to individuals every Thursday,” she says.
Hughes adds that it makes a huge difference in the community, as evidenced by the number of clients and supporters.
“It’s really an initiative that makes a difference in people’s lives, that makes a difference in the community and Amanda is very engaged in all that she does.”
