Horse enthusiasts will want to get on your high horses and get to the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat on July 27th and 28th. The Cochrane Polar Bear Horse Riders Club is organizing a western gaming show on those days.
Volunteer Daniel Brunet says area riders and some from the North Bay and Sault Ste. Marie areas will be competing for National Barrel Horse Association points and cash prizes.
“There’s going to be some pole bending, there’s going to be barrel racing, some dash for cash and a whole lot of fun throughout the da,” he outlines. “There’s the Heritage Days as well, so there’s activities for the children, food on site as well.”
“Exhibition run starts at 7:30 ‘til 9:00am,” he continues. “That’s the warm-up for the riders, and then from 10:00am ‘til about 4:00 or 5:00pm will be the actual event. People stroll in all day long.”
Admission for spectators is covered by the Polar Bear Habitat entry fee.
