The OPP search for Lucas MacDonald is over, but not before an officer involved in the search was shot.
The provincial police force says the shooting took place during an interaction on an island on Night Hawk Lake Wednesday. The officer was taken to hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition. No other information has been released.
The search for 43-year-old MacDonald began in late May when the body of 30-year-old Marcel Thoma was found in Egan Township, where MacDonald lives, southwest of Matheson.
OPP say MacDonald is in custody, and there’s no further risk to public safety.
