North Centennial Manor in Kapuskasing wants to do something extra special for its residents this holiday season. Activities Coordinator Erin Van Alstine is looking at setting up a Christmas lights display similar to what’s at Riverside Park.
She adds that the residents are often bused to see the park, but they don’t get the full effect of the displays.
“We can light up the trees, light up the awnings of the residents’ windows, also the fences that go around our backyard,” she said. “We have some inflatables, putting up as well but those are tricky because they are not as durable.”
She hopes to have the lights turned on by December 1.
“The sooner, the better to get the donations in,” she said. “It’s going to be a work in progress for sure because it’s going to be out first year. But the sooner we have lights the sooner we can fabricate our full plan.”
The lights and the displays can be dropped off at the front office of the manor.
