Warm Belly Kitchen and Food Bank participating in Tim’s Smile Cookie Campaign

The Kapuskasing Food Bank and the Warm Belly Kitchen will co-benefit from this year’s Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign. You can pick up the tasty treat to raise money for both organizations on Monday, April 28th through next Sunday, May 4th.

Food Bank coordinator Laurey Benson says there is a big goal to raise this year.

“Our goal is $18,000 this year or 9,000 cookies,” she said. “This would bring our three year total raised to $50,000 from Tim Horton’s Smile Cookies.”

Kitchen Coordinator Amanda Rickard says the goal is a large part of both organizations’ budget

“So it’s an incredibly important campaign for us and it’s a great opportunity for the community to come out, work with us, listen to us speak about what the organizations do for our community,” Rickard said. “And we just invite everyone to come out and purchase that smile cookie for $2.”

Rickard invites everyone to check out social media to follow the milk and cookie and see what location they will be at in town to win gift cards and free smile cookies.

Benson hints there may be some delivery options available. Volunteers are needed to help decorate and sell cookies at various times throughout the week. For further information visit the Warm Belly Kitchen’s website.
