The chemotherapy suite at Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing benefited from a short but highly successful fundraising draw last week.
Foundation project manager Mireille Dubosq says $14,712 was raised in a three week span from ticket sales at the Year-end Hockey Classic at the Sports Palace last week. Some of the seven prizes included: a 75 inch TV, several loads of gravel, and a barbeque.
Dubosq credited the draw success to the foundation partners Chantal Lepage and Claude D-Amours as well as numerous other volunteers.
She adds that the draw is only the beginning and could lead to something bigger next year.
