Fishing and the ones that didn’t get away are the subjects of this week’s Kapuskasing History Feature.
A photo that was displayed on page 8 of the August 15, 1962 edition of the Northern Times shows three people who returned from a successful fishing trip. President of the East End Merchants’ Association Joe Nadon went fishing and came home with one one but two sturgeon that came in at a whopping 32 and 15 pounds respectively.
The story states that it took Joe Nadon a half an hour to put the fishing from the Mattagami River. Nadon was accompanied in the photo and on his expedition by John Liska Jr. and John Liska Sr.
