The Town of Kap handed out its second community recognition awards last night at the Civic Centre Auditorium. Twenty people were honoured in various categories from business, hall of fame, community builders and sports.
Town councillor and awards committee chairman Anne-Marie Leblanc says local residents do a great job nominating people for their accomplishments.
“I think it really represents our community. It represents our francophone community, our indigenous community, everyone and this is what Kapuskasing looks like,” she said.
Leblanc says she hopes this program will continue to grow.
“It’s in its second year and more awareness will create the opportunity for people to nominate people that are doing such wonderful things in this town that we call home that we love,” she added.
