Kap Golden Age Centre unveils renovated kitchen

Members of the Kapuskasing Golden Age Centre celebrated its newly renovated kitchen with its last meal of 2024 on Wednesday. A Trillium Foundation Grant of $44,800 paid for the new kitchen cupboards, counter tops and appliances. Past President Madeline Paquette is excited about the new kitchen.

“It’s all over now we did fix the kitchen,” she said. “Everything is new in the kitchen as far as cupboards, counters and all of that. We always get that to be done in the summer where there is less activities so it took the summer.”

Paquette adds grants like trillium one are so beneficial to the organization.

“The Golden Age Centre wouldn’t be as nice and active if it wouldn’t be for the grants,” she said. “Trillium foundation is a blessing for us.”

The Golden Age Centre is located in the lower level of the Civic Center and offers a variety of different activities for seniors in the community.
