Smooth Rock Falls Fire Department and Enbridge team up to help residents

The Smooth Rock Falls Fire Department and Enbridge announced they’re working together to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon-monoxide related deaths to zero.

The Fire department was presented with 60 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms through the Safe Community Project.  Smooth Rock Falls fire chief Michael Pelletier says the alarms will support the community during the department’s home inspections.

He adds that being able to assist residents in keeping them safe is high priority for the department. The Smooth Rock Falls Fire Department consists of 20 volunteers.

Kapuskasing Enbridge Operations Supervisor Claude Baril says the alarms are a critical second line of defense against Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
