Guy Bourgouin accepts NDP nomination to run in future provincial election

The Ontario New Democrats continue to nominate candidates should Doug Ford call a snap provincial election.

The latest one is in the riding of Mushkegowuk James Bay where Guy Bourgouin accepted the nomination at LaForge last night. He says it’s not a matter of if there is an election but when as Premier Ford wants to go ahead of a potential federal one.

“Absolutely just look at all of the announcements he is doing in the south,” he said. “He’s campaigning he’s setting us up probably for a spring election of not sooner. We have to be ready when the writ drops you got to be ready to run.”

Bourgouin would be attempting to seek a third term at Queen’s Park. A provincial election doesn’t have to be called until 2026.
