Slip and slide your way through summer with Kapuskasing Public Library kids’ activities

The Kapuskasing Public Library has lined up a summer full of activities for kids. CEO Julie Latimer says there are “a whole bunch of really neat ones”.

For instance, this is the third year that the library is collaborating with the Town of Kap for science and craft activities at Dominion Park, every Tuesday afternoon.

“Our student pages here at the library have created fun activities that are also learning activities that are also learning activities,” Latimer states, “and kids can just drop in from 1:00 until 3:00 at the Dominion Park and learn and have fun.”

Kicking it off next Tuesday, July 2nd is slip-and-slide. Latimer is adamant that there’s science involved in that.

She goes on to say that there’s reading bingo. Following the suggestions and reading the books can line you up for a prize in September.

And Thursdays, there’s drop-in story time for little ones up to six years old.  Latimer says it’s difficult to set a specific time because of feeding and sleeping schedules.

“Parents with their little ones can drop in anytime between 10:30 in the morning and 1:30 in the afternoon and our library pages will read them some amusing stories.”

More details are in our interview that you can listen to right here.
