Avalon Advanced Materials won’t be purchasing the former Agrium mine site southwest of Kapuskasing after all.
The purchase agreement between the junior mining company and Nutrien formerly Agrium wasn’t completed according to CEO Jim Jaques. He added that his company has no ownership interest in the property now and discussions between the two sides have ended.
In 2021, Avalon announced it had intended to purchase the closed mine site because of rich tailing deposits. Since that news, Avalon has gone through a management change.
