Sensenbrenner to be without backup power for parts of three days

From tomorrow evening through early Friday morning, the hospital will be without a backup source of power.

Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing is alerting local area residents that due to a much needed and necessary electrical breaker upgrade, the hospital will be without back-up generator power for portions of three days, beginning tomorrow.

CEO France Dallaire in a press release says that in the event that a Northern Ontario Wires interruption would take place, the hospital could be vulnerable to a hospital-wide outage lasting up to 30 minutes while power is restored.

Dallaire says they are aware this could take place between 8:00pm and 8:00am each morning; therefore they kindly are asking the public to present themselves to the Emergency Department only if the matter is truly urgent.

  • From Tuesday, April 30 at 8 p.m. to Wednesday, May 1 at 8 a.m.
  • From Wednesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. to Thursday, May 2 at 8 a.m.
  • From Thursday, May 2 at 8 p.m. to Friday, May 3 at 8 a.m.

Sensenbrenner staff wanted to thank the community for their cooperation and understanding.
