The National Day of Mourning is to remember lives lost due to work related injuries.
Kapuskasing’s District Labour Council President Bill DeMontigny says the gathering this Sunday at Riverside Park is to honour workers that have been injured or killed as a result of their employment.
DeMontigny also says it’s a chance to revisit current labour health and safety regulations putting the focus on improving health and safety of current workers.
He says the day will begin at Riverside Park at the Worker’s Cenotaph at 11:00am followed by refreshments at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 85.
