Spring concert will get you into the ‘Swing of Spring’

You will need to get into the ‘swing’ of spring next Wednesday.

The first day of May will also bring with it the annual Jubilee Singers of Kapuskasing’s Spring Concert.

Volunteer and Member Valerie Isaac says the theme is ‘Let’s Swing into Spring’ meaning there will be a focus on swing songs, which should have people clapping and snapping along.

Isaac says there will be songs people are both familiar with, as well some that are brand new and much more challenging for the singers themselves.

She says as always there is no set audience for the show, meaning there is something for people of all ages to enjoy.

Isaac says a big thanks to the preparation goes to two special ladies behind it all.

“I have to say kudos to our President Janet Shedden, and our Choir Director Louise Fortin for sitting down and going over all the different kinds of music and putting a selection together that kind of has a theme throughout it.”

She says come out, enjoy, because they promise you they are as well.

“We hope that people come out and have a good time, because we’re having a good time and if you watch us singing our pieces this year you will know that we are having a blast doing it so come out and enjoy it with us.”

The annual spring concert takes place at the Kapuskasing Education Centre Auditorium within KDHS, and tickets can be purchased from choir members or the mall ticket hut.
